Define Your Own Life

Many times I have been caught up in my past, who hurt me, how they hurt me and the never ending question why did they hurt me only to realize what a waste of energy this has been. I cried out to friends in a fit of emotional vomiting all over them, I never felt so bad. I had left them feeling they had to do or say something to make me feel better. I love all my friends and family but the truth is I was avoiding the fact that I am the only one with the power to change my own life.

I also realized reaching out instead of within has kept me from dealing with my own self. As long as I stayed focused on others whether in the past or here I could blame everything on circumstances or people for my unhappiness I want to be healthy but not in a obsessive manner where I miss all the components to choosing a happier lifestyle that I create to my own liking.

So many times we read how a hollywood star does this diet, or does this many crunches, etc., or we eat certain foods for the results someone got from them only to phase it all out of our lives in the matter of days or weeks with no lasting results.

What gave me the idea of being creative and empowering my self and others to use their power (energy) to define their own lives by starting with the core of exercise, food, spirituality, etc., is when I would tell friends how I lost 30 pounds by eating popcorn by the bags with diet soda and exercising on a home exerciser watching TV by the hours. It worked!! And the funny thing is - who would think - "Hey everyone, let's pop some popcorn, have a diet soda and watch a movie".

That was last year, I stepped up my routine to another exercise machine that is more challenging and it cannot fit in the living room so my current exercise routine entails drinking water or eating a 30 calorie popsicle or two while reading as I exercise.

I would love to hear others who have broken the mold of general exercise dos and don'ts and found fun in their routines and how it helped them in the long run take the next step to challenging theirselves to harder routines and not taking the fun out of it.
